16 Awarded FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative Scholarships

FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative has awarded their 2018 scholarships to 16 deserving students. This year marks the sixth year the cooperative has been giving scholarships, for a grand total of 148 candidates totaling nearly $130,000.

“This scholarship program is one of many ways FarmFirst gives back to our members and their families,” says Jeff Lyon, General Manager of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative. “Here at FarmFirst, we strongly believe in supporting future generations of agriculturalists. Through education, our next generation will bring new ideas and technology to the industry to ensure continued growth and development.”

“Education is an important tool in the development of lifelong skills and successful careers. That’s why FarmFirst believes in continual support of educational opportunities for our members and their children. These scholarships are one way we are helping our youth of today prepare for the challenges of tomorrow,” says Julie Sweney, Director of Communications and Marketing.

David Warner of New Prague, Minn.

Curtis Weltzien of Arcadia, Wis.

Kortney Woldt of Brillion, Wis.

Collin Wussow of Cecil, Wis.

Scholarship recipients were selected based on leadership, scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, essay responses and their future plans and career goals. All members of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative and their children attending four-year universities, two-year technical programs or short courses and high school seniors planning for postsecondary education were eligible to apply for the scholarships.
